Intro to Canicross
What is Canicross?
Canicross is an exhilarating sport where a runner and their dog are connected by a bungee leash, working in tandem to navigate trails. Originating from mushing, this sport not only fosters a strong bond between you and your canine companion but also delivers significant fitness benefits for both.
Engaging in canicross boosts cardiovascular health, builds endurance, and enhances muscular strength for humans, while dogs experience improved physical condition, mental stimulation, and a release of pent-up energy. This shared activity promotes overall well-being and nurtures a healthy, active lifestyle for both participants.
Why Canicross?
Canicross and running with your dog offer fantastic benefits, especially for beginners embarking on their fitness journey. Not only does it provide an enjoyable way to stay active, but it also strengthens the bond between you and your furry friend. Starting out with your buddy by your side can make the experience less daunting and more fun.
Plus, it's a great way to motivate each other and stay accountable. As you both progress together, you'll notice improvements in your stamina, endurance, and overall well-being.

With each stride, you'll not only be improving your physical health but also deepening the connection with your loyal companion.

You will be introduced to specific canicross harnesses for your dog, and one for you too - trying out an example for the session. There will be introductions to commands, tips and safety advice so that you come away from the session feeling confident to take the next step.
